By road from Harare

Do not plan to drive the last stretch after dark.

Take the Mutare road east, the continuation of Samora Machel, past Marondera and Rusape to Mutare. In Mutare go straight through the roundabout until you reach a T-junction after passing a Zuva garage on your left. Turn right, following signs to Forbes Border, Forest Hills and Leopard Rock.

Pass the Forbes Border turn-off and drive another 200 metres of rough road to the Vumba Road: turn left immediately after the Total garage on your left. At the next fork turn left again; straight on goes to the Burma Valley. Just after the 17 km peg keep right, toward Forest Hills, Leopard Rock and the Botanical Gardens.

Another 15 kilometres, past Tony's, Forest Hills, the Botanical Gardens and HIVU, turn right into Eggardon Road. The hotel is two kilometres further, at the end of the road.

By air

Air Zimbabwe operates scheduled flights between Harare and Mutare's Grand Reef Aerodrome, 65 kilometres from the hotel, and on to Victoria Falls. Days and times are on airzimbabwe.aero. The hotel collects from Grand Reef by prior arrangement. Mutare Airport, 35 kilometres away, has a 950-metre runway for private aircraft.

By helicopter

Seventy minutes from central Harare. The driving range is the landing ground and takes up to three helicopters at once. Give us the registration and the time.

Hire cars

Cars are collected in Harare rather than Mutare: Impala Car Rental (+263 772 382 946) and the Avis and Europcar desks at RGM International Airport. A 4x4 is needed only for the self-drive game loop, which the hotel can arrange in its own vehicle.
